Five Lessons Every Workplace Could Learn from our Office Puppy
Inspired by Aron Solomon’s brilliant post at Medium, here’s a few lessons that everyone, from branding buffs to baristas, could learn from the Most Adorable Odvodian, Fynnley.
1. Be friendly to everyone, especially strangers.
You don’t have to wiggle your entire body, lick your new acquaintance’s pants or jump up and down (in fact, we recommend against it), but you can extend your hand and smile. It never hurts to treat everybody like they’re your new best friend, because who knows — they just might be.
2. Move around.
Grab someone and go for a walk or just get up and go for a drink. Getting yourself going is good for the entire body, including your head and your heart. And it leaves your coat nice and shiny.
3. Believe in your ideas.
If you believe that the best course of action is to take a pen and chew it until your beard is a deep shade of blue, then do just that. Just remember to listen when someone yells at you to stop.
4. Never half-finish a job.
“Good enough” is never good enough. See a project through to the best possible result. Grab that empty coffee cup and shred it into a million pieces until it is nearly atomized. Then move on to the next empty coffee cup.
5. Don’t be afraid to be you, for better or worse.
You were hired for your skills, true, but also your personality. You may be a bit too loud or destructive at times, but everyone still likes you and respects and appreciates your role in the office. Every once in a while, to show their appreciation, they’ll give you some treats and ruffle your hair.
