Why it’s important:
Communities are complex ecosystems
with multifaceted needs. ECF is one of the few organizations that works equally with human services, arts, health, education and environmental institutions.
When we look at the best ways to address community needs and issues, we know that it is paramount to take a collaborative approach. Addressing the root causes of needs, instead of treating symptoms, requires a 360-degree understanding of the community landscape.

ECF is uniquely situated to support collaborative long-term problem solving across the charitable sector. By bringing the right people
to the table and using all the tools in our toolkit, we can implement strategic, measurable initiatives that leave a lasting impact.
While challenges exist, we are also delighted to see and champion the many successes that are happening. Organizations in each sector are doing valuable work and it is important that services, projects and programs that have proven track records of success are funded to continue and grow. This will be an essential part of the path forward as we work to sustain the progress that has been made on several important issues.
What SUCCESS looks like in 3 years
In the next three years we will focus on taking a proactive and prioritized approach to determining where funding can have the greatest impact. Community and partner input, along with data, will inform how we prioritize community needs and opportunities. We will continue doing good with the money we give and invest, and our value will be understood by the individuals, organizations and communities we serve.
